Innovation Research Grants

The BSH Innovation Research Grant provides pump鈥憄riming funding of up to 拢40,000 to support novel, high鈥慽mpact projects with a clear plan for sustaining impact beyond the grant period.

We welcome applications for clinical, data鈥慸riven, and community鈥慺ocused research.

Award Summary

Up to 拢40,000 per grant, five available
Who can apply? All BSH Members (including doctors, nurses, scientists, and allied health professionals)
Eligibility 

We are looking for:

  • A strong research plan
  • Clear impact and sustainability of impact beyond the end of the grant funding
  • Detailed budget and relevant experience
  • Support from your current Head of Service/Supervisor
Funding Includes
  • Pilot clinical studies
  • Registries and real-world data applications
  • Innovative projects addressing unmet needs and underserved populations
Recipient Requirements
  • Submit a grant report
  • Submit an abstract for the 
  • Feature in a social media video if asked to promote BSH's grants programme or to highlight impact of the grant.
Deadline and Outcome 3 February 2026, outcome expected by 3 August 2026

Please note:

Membership applications for those resident outside of the UK are considered once a month by Governance Committee therefore please allow 6 weeks if submitting a membership application for approval and processing if joining BSH in order to apply for this grant.
