This pilot fellowship grant aims to support BSH members who are trainees in a country where there is no local training programme to access context-appropriate haematology training in a nearby country/region. This grant is intended to support access to context-appropriate training in a formal postgraduate haematology programme.
Two grants of up to 拢48,000 spread over three years. (Up to 拢15,000 annually and a total of 拢45,000 (excluding inflation), usually over a 3-year period. In addition, travel costs of up to 拢1000 per year (maximum total 拢3000).
Please note this grant is for BSH members only. Membership applications for those resident outside of the UK are considered once a month by Governance Committee therefore please allow 6 weeks if submitting a membership application for approval and processing if joining BSH in order to apply for this grant.

What we are looking for
Applicant
- Must meet the entry requirements for the intended training institution
- Must show evidence of acceptance into the intended training programme
- Must demonstrate a clear commitment to haematology specialty training through their application and their track record, and an intention to return to their home country on completion of training
- Must commit to the aim of completion of training within the specified e.g. 3 year, time frame
Training institution
- Must commit to supporting the completion of the applicant鈥檚 training within the specified timeframe
Home institution
- Must provide a commitment to supporting the trainee on returning from their fellowship
- Must formally recognise the training provided through this fellowship and confirm that it confers haematology specialism status on the trainee in their home country
Grant recipients will
- Complete a grant report at the end of each training year
